Finding a pair of jeans that fit you and your body just right is one of fashion's biggest conundrums. Either there's a gap in the waist, the thighs are too tight, or the wash isn't quite worn enough for your liking. Thankfully, with all the new denim trends coming in, you're bound to find something that works perfectly for you.
While the denim market is notoriously cyclical, designers surprised us this year with a ~fresh~ crop of baby blues that totally go against the grain. From asymmetric jeans worn by the one and only Celine Dion to the 2020 version of JNCO jeans, this season's denim is a breath of fresh air. Ahead, shop the 6 denim trends we're betting big on for fall.
At Refinery29, we’re here to help you navigate this overwhelming world of stuff. All of our market picks are independently selected and curated by the editorial team. If you buy something we link to on our site, Refinery29 may earn commission.

Asymmetry
Asymmetrical hemlines are trending in RTW this season, so it's no wonder that jeans are following suit. But it wasn't until Celine Dion stepped out wearing a pair (courtesy of Ksenia Schnaider) that the mismatched denim trend really caught on.
Whether it's skinny and wide, black and white, or straight and flared, if you're not wearing mismatched jeans, what are you even doing?

Patchwork
A major trend from Ganni's FW19 collection, patchwork dressing doesn't stop at just denim. We're seeing dresses, skirts, and outerwear all wrapped up in a pattern- and color-blocked package.

"Jnco" Jeans
Don't worry, we're not talking about the 90s "Judge None Choose One" jeans worn by every teenage boy with iced out tips and a leash choker. The 2020 version is a serious upgrade, with a tailored waist and extra wide legs.

Pastel
Pastels aren't usually associated with Fall, but this season, designers are taking a cue from spring's most ubiquitous color scheme.

Carpenter Jeans
Our favorite workwear trend au moment: the carpenter jean. They're straight legged, contain multiple pockets (score), and probably even include a loop for your keys. Throw on a pair with a white tank for an easy Fall look.

Ombré
While the ombré hair trend is finally over, the idea of dip-dying lives on. This season, the high-to-low look is making its way into the denim sphere, with brands like Miaou and Rejina Pyo throwing their hats jeans in the ring.
